What is an anti-mite mattress cover for allergy sufferers for?
The anti-mite mattress cover is designed to protect allergy sufferers from dust mites and their allergens. Since you can’t wash the mattress and it’s quite difficult to clean, it’s no wonder that it’s where most dust mites are found. Anti-mite covers are made of a fabric with a very fine texture that does not allow mites or their allergens to pass through the cover into or out of the mattress. Not only will allergy symptoms be relieved, but the quality of the allergy sufferer’s sleep will also improve.

How does nanoSPACE’s anti-mite mattress cover for allergy sufferers work?
Anti-mite mattress cover from the Czech company nanoSPACE was produced using innovative nanotechnology. Specifically, it is a multi-layered textile with a nanofibre membrane inside. The membrane serves as an impenetrable barrier that effectively prevents mites from penetrating or escaping the mattress. Thanks to this barrier, mites are not able to live or breed in the mattress. The nano fabric is also 100% breathable and keeps the mattress clean.
The anti-allergy mattress cover is available in three designs:
- Anti-mite coating with rubber – The rubber cover is suitable for heavy mattresses as it is very easy to stretch. However, it only protects the mattress from the top, so it is not suitable for older mattresses or bunk beds.
- Anti-mite coating with zipper – For an older type of mattress or just a bunk bed, a zippered cover is ideal. It protects the mattress from all sides, but it is not as easy to handle as a rubber cover.
- Anti-mite coating in the form of a tarp – If you have atypical mattress dimensions or you want to take your mattress cover with you on the go, get a mattress cover in the form of a sheet that will fit your mattress nicely. As with the first type of cover, this type is not suitable for old mattresses or bunk beds.
How do we rate nanoSPACE’s anti-mite mattress cover with rubber for allergy sufferers?
As big opponents of bunk beds, we have equipped the children’s room with two beds, which we regularly clean underneath. You can probably guess which anti-mite mattress cover we chose for the nanoSPACE – yes, the one with rubber. So we also have to admit that our children’s mattresses are not exactly the lightest, so we want to save ourselves the trouble of covering them as much as possible. We would only reach for a zipper if we had an older mattress, as recommended by the manufacturer. And how satisfied are we with the rubber cover?
Packaging
We would like to finally write something different, but we are still very satisfied with the packaging of nanoSPACE. The spiderweb covered boxes are starting to get a bit chipped in our house, but we’re sorry to throw them away because they’ll definitely come in handy for something, you know. 😉
Not to single out just the boxes here, we really like how the products come packaged and described. The anti-mite mattress cover with rubber came classically nicely folded and with a leaflet on how the nanomaterial works.

Quality of material and sewing
The coating is made of 99.9% polyester (microfiber fabric) and 0.1% polyamide 6 (nanofiber membrane). Like us, that probably doesn’t tell you much. The OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 fabric certification gives you a slightly better picture .
The certificate guarantees that the product has undergone rigorous tests, meets the established ecological criteria and safety requirements for products that come into contact with our skin. The material is already pleasantly soft to the touch , so we didn’t even think about any impending rash after the bed linen.
As far as the sewing is concerned, the cover corresponds to the dimensions, the seams are tight and there are no threads sticking out anywhere. The elastic is also nicely firm, but at the same time we have no problem with stretching it.
Be sure to measure the thickness of the mattress before buying. Most coatings are made to a thickness of 20 cm. If you have a thicker mattress, it’s clear that the cover won’t fit on it and you’re better off with a fitted sheet.
Functionality
As the text shows, we bought the anti-mite mattress cover with rubber for the children. One of them inherited an allergy to dust mites from us. Because we tried nanoSPACE products on ourselves first, we were not afraid to buy the cover twice, even for non-allergic people. But if you are hearing about nanoSPACE for the first time, definitely try one product and if you are satisfied, get another one. We wouldn’t like to push you into something.
Nanospace covers in combination with other anti-mite bedding really work. Previously, our son often woke up at night with a stuffy nose and in the morning with slightly swollen bags under his eyes. After the allergist confirmed his allergy to dust mites, he showed us a nanoSPACE flyer with the necessary information and a 10% discount (maybe yours will have it too).
When even a doctor recommends something that you yourself have already tried, everything carries much more weight. Right after the first night with the anti-mite bedding, my son noticed a change. Since then, he hasn’t been troubled by any more problems and we have had a big break together.

Maintenance
Before you cover the mattress, you should vacuum it thoroughly to get rid of as many mites as possible that have been living in it. You can use the anti-dust mite mattress cover for allergy sufferers straight out of the box, there is no need to wash it. After you put the cover on, you still need to put your own sheets over it.
When you wash your sheets after a certain period of time, you don’t have to take off the cover. nanoSPACE recommends washing the anti-mite mattress cover once a year without fabric softener at 40 °C (60 °C if necessary) in a chlorine- and phosphorus-free washing gel or powder. Allow the cover to dry freely after washing. Do not throw it in the dryer or iron it.
